About AIC
Honours and Awards
The AIC honours individuals who have made a significant contribution to agriculture in Canada and internationally.

2008 Recipient
Tom Beach (left) received AIC's highest honour, Fellow of the Agricultural Institute of Canada. He was nominated for the award by six fellow AIC members.
The award was presented by Dr. David Chanasyk, AIC Past President, at a luncheon in Ottawa on June 27, 2009.

AIC Award Categories
AIC Fellowship
AIC's highest honour, the title of Fellow of the Agricultural Institute of Canada recognizes an individual AIC member who has made a distinguished contribution to Canadian agriculture through contributions to building scientific capacity for societal good, integration and collaboration between disciplines and sectors, and communications.

The following awards will not be presented in 2009
Outstanding Young Agrologist
Eligible to those under the age of 40, this award is presented to Professional Agrologists who are members of AIC who demonstrate outstanding achievement and service to agriculture in Canada.
Institute Recognition Award
This award recognizes those who go above and beyond in their support of the AIC.
International Partners Award (for Non-Members of AIC)
Recognizing the importance of AIC international partners in supporting
developing nations, this award is presented to international partners who make outstanding contributions to the development of agriculture in the developing world.
International Recognition Award
Recognizing the importance of supporting developing nations, this award is presented to AIC Members who make outstanding contributions to the development of agriculture in the developing world.
Grindley Medal
The Grindley Medal is presented to a Canadian citizen who has made a significant contribution to Canadian agriculture within the previous five years, the impact of which has been far-reaching and widely recognized.
Honorary Membership
Individual Honorary AIC Memberships are granted in recognition of outstanding and continuing accomplishments within Canadian agriculture.
