ITPP Project Selection

How are AIC ITPP projects selected?

Project proposals are reviewed first by the sponsoring AIC Member Organization or Association and, if accepted, the Executive of the Member body forwards the proposal, along with any comments, to the AIC International Agricultural Development Program Coordinator. The Coordinator may follow-up with the Member Organization to clarify points before the proposal is presented to an AIC project review committee.

All proposals to the ITPP are evaluated by an AIC project review committee. This is a working group of the International Agricultural Development Program and its members are selected for their skills, knowledge and experience in International development.

To assess the overall quality and feasibility of the proposal, the project review committee will consider:

  • The consistency of the proposal with the objectives of AIC's International Twinning Partnership Program;
  • The overall completeness and clarity of the proposal and supporting documentation;
  • The project team's capacity to carry out the proposed project;
  • The total amount of support requested; and
  • The project team's capacity to meet in-kind contribution requirements.

The review committee may request additional information on the proposal, through the Member Organization or Association Executive, before reaching a final decision. Please see the following section for project selection criteria.
