Webinar Series on the Future of Agri-Food Research and Innovation
We invite you to join us for the 6th webinar in a series dedicated to the future of agri-food research and innovation.
Are there too many of us? Overcoming divisions in the sector
Canada’s agri-food sector includes a plethora of organizations devoted, in part or entirely, to advancing certain aspects of research and innovation. On the one hand, the presence of many voices is understandable: Canada is a highly regionalized country, with each province focusing on different agri-food priorities and objectives; moreover, the sector is composed of several industries and commodity groups whose needs require unique solutions. On the other hand, it increases the risk of a silo’ed approach to advocacy in research and innovation when a unified effort is desirable to address issues that affect large segments of the sector.
Join us on September 23 from 1:00-2:30 pm ET as we discuss risk areas in the current landscape, and identify ways to consolidate and complement existing efforts in a way that contributes to advancing agri-food research and innovation across the sector.
Panelists:
- Bob Friesen, long time farmer advocate
- The Honourable Andy Mitchell, P.C. former Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada
