Webinar Series on the Future of Agri-Food Research and Innovation
We invite you to join us for the 7th webinar in a series dedicated to the future of agri-food research and innovation.
Food and beverage processing: Innovation in support of increased productivity and competitiveness
Food and beverage processing is the second-largest manufacturing sector in Canada. As an industry, it transforms primary commodities into high-value food products and increases the value of Canadian exports. However, the industry isn’t without its own challenges: it ranks 20th among OECD countries for investments in R&D; more than 80% of new products in grocery stores are developed or manufactured outside of Canada; and labour remains a crucial issue.
Join us on November 18 from 1:00-2:30pm EST as we review the state of research and development in food processing, explore the potential of innovation to help address challenges, and discuss opportunities to take meaningful action to stimulate the industry’s productivity and competitiveness.
Panelists:
- Fawn Jackson, Director of Government and International Relations (Ottawa), Canadian Cattlemen’s Association
- Kathleen Sullivan, CEO, Food and Beverage Canada
- Carla Ventin, Senior Vice President, Government Relations, Food & Consumer Products of Canada (FCPC)
